British interior designer Rose Uniacke has been commissioned to redesign New York City's historic Jane Hotel. Originally opened in 1908 as the American Seamen’s Friend Society Sailors’ Home and Institute, the Jane Hotel was bought by hotelier Jeff Klein in 2022 with plans to convert it into an East Coast branch of his exclusive San Vicente Bungalows club. Uniacke's design approach is expected to blend the building's rich history with contemporary elegance, creating a sophisticated environment for the members-only club.

The term "ugly" has been explored in various cultural contexts, often challenging traditional notions of beauty. For instance, the World Association of Ugly People, founded in Italy, advocates for the acceptance and recognition of individuals who don't conform to conventional beauty standards. Similarly, Ugly Models, a London-based modeling agency, specializes in character models, celebrating unique and unconventional appearances. These organizations emphasize that beauty is subjective and encourage a broader appreciation of diverse aesthetics. Experts say the key to solving this isn’t just about dating tips—it’s about helping young men build confidence, social skills, and emotional resilience.

In Gatesville, Texas, a unique bond has formed between the seven women on death row and the Sisters of Mary Morning Star, a contemplative Catholic order based in Waco. Initiated in 2021 by Deacon Ronnie Lastovica, this relationship has led to spiritual transformations among the inmates, many of whom have embraced Catholicism and become formal affiliates, or Oblates, of the order. The nuns, who lead lives of silence and contemplation, regularly visit the prisoners, offering compassion and support without judgment. This connection has provided the inmates with a renewed sense of hope and community, challenging traditional perceptions of those sentenced to death.
