JEANS THAT STAND THE TEST OF TIME
There are few sartorial choices as personal as finding your perfect pair of jeans. For many, Levi’s remains the brand of choice—especially their vintage, Orange Tab ones. Born in the counterculture of the late 1960s, the orange tab was introduced to differentiate between Levi's' more experimental items and their classic 501 jeans. Used across Levi’s offering, the Orange Tab quickly became synonymous with those looking to break away from convention; in terms of style but also culturally. The line became a canvas for self-expression: political, music preferences or personal style. Today, it remains a favorite of vintage collectors and denim fans.
“The perfect uniform. There’s no GREATER Jean than the 517. It hugs the hips just right and as it falls to the ankle gives a funky shape that’s both a call to the past yet still — modern. My closet is filled top to bottom with Levi’s and the 517’s are my most worn pair.”
“Bre Andy’s latest work, ‘Upon Arrival’, seemed to have CAPTURED the essence of my entire New York experience without using any words. Her life’s perspective shown through her artistry is relatable and dynamic.”
AN EXPLORATION OF INTIMACY AND THE FEMALE FORM
Themes of intimacy, sexuality, self-observation, and domesticity are at the heart of Bre Andy’s work. The New York-based figurative oil painter’s portraits and still lifes explore the experiences of a modern woman’s daily life through a feminine gaze, challenging the narratives of a society that often objectifies and commodifies our bodies. Drawing from personal experiences, her paintings capture private, often vulnerable moments—such as undressing or gazing in the mirror—inviting viewers to engage with their own perceptions. With her work, she creates a tension and dialogue between being observed and existing freely. We’ll let Telsha tell you more.
DRUNK BY WINE FANATICS AND CULTURE VULTURES
Vivanterre is culture’s favorite wine. Crafted in the Auvergne region of France by Patrick Bouju and Justine Loiseau, and founded by Rosie and Max Assoulin with renowned sommelier Cedric Nicaise, Vivanterre champions sustainability through organically and biodynamically farmed grapes. Each bottle reflects the essence of the “Living Earth,” created without fining, filtering, or added sulfites. Vivanterre’s offering includes five wines, from an Orange Contact and Pink Petnat to a Vivanterre Gamay MVB. The collaborative spirit of these wine experts and novices is what makes this artisanal venture such an interesting one. Merging diverse perspectives to craft a wine that resonates with both wine connoisseurs and those more aesthetically inclined.
“After a few months of giving birth to my son, my first glass of wine I had was – Vivanterre. There’s something about a cold refreshing glass of natural wine from France that really puts everything into PERSPECTIVE. And If you’re anything like me, you also love a glass of wine that comes from a beautifully packaged bottle. The Vivanterre bottle sits perfectly on a fashionable bar.”
“I have the menu top to bottom EVERY time I’m in Paris. There’s nothing that compares.”
AFRICAN CUISINE BY WAY OF PARIS
We hadn’t heard of Waly Fay before, and it sounds like that’s our loss. With its menu that celebrates the vibrant flavors of African cuisine, you almost forget you’re dining in the heart of Paris. Waly Fay combines French and Maghreb influences, celebrating Senegal’s rich culinary heritage. The menu features contemporary interpretations of classic dishes, including cod accras, chicken yassa, and Cameroon-style mussels, alongside sweet potato mousse and bissap coulis. The restaurant's open kitchen and intimate seating along with its laid-back ambiance makes for the kind of place you don’t really want to leave.
