The Future of Wellness is Ancient

Health is the new status symbol—but in an industry obsessed with optimization, what’s been lost is connection. Wellness has been commodified into sleek packaging, endless supplements, and performative routines. neoNutritions is pushing against that tide. Founded by artist and wellness practitioner Fee Steinvorth and renowned photographer Zoë Ghertner, the brand is focused on a return—to ancient wisdom, to high-vibrational nutrition, to the simple act of tuning in.

Built on the principles of Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and medical anthropology, neoNutritions isn’t selling a quick fix. It’s offering a system of care. The brand’s debut product, The Ultimate Foundation, took five years to develop, packing 52 organic ingredients into a formula designed to bring the body back into balance. But for Steinvorth and Ghertner, it’s bigger than what’s inside the sachet—it’s about creating a paradigm shift. One that moves beyond consumption and into awareness.

Here, Steinvorth and Ghertner get candid about breaking free from the noise, why true wellness is about presence, and how they’re building a new kind of health community—one that’s rooted in intention, knowledge, and connection.

neoNutritions’ Ultimate Foundation is a 100% USDA organic once-a-day powder formula with the highest frequency foods on the planet, including unparalleled seeds, greens, fruits, algae, adaptogens, and restorative roots. It boosts immunity and energy levels, improves longevity, lowers inflammation, balances digestion and gut health. Courtesy of neoNutritions, captured by Zoë Ghertner.

In the past few years, we've seen exponential growth in consumer interest in health, wellness, and supplements. It's about buying into health, but it often lacks connection, whether that's to yourself or others.

Fee: I wrote that down precisely. It's a spiritual bypass, the consumption of spiritual goods.

What do you think is driving that behavioral shift and what's your approach in capturing that consumer in an authentic way?

Fee: There is a collective global awakening happening. People are much more aware and want to be their ship's captain. neoNutritions is based on ancient principles of Ayurveda, Chinese medicine and Anthroposophic medicine. By understanding the interconnectedness between our physical body, mind, and spirit, we can return to a state of true health. For me, health is being able to be present. Twenty years ago, when I started my practice, I asked: What do we need? That’s a question we continue to ask at neoNutritions. The same question guided ancient health systems like Ayurveda and TCM. At neoNutritions, we’ve created a triangle of well-being—high-vibrational nutrition, movement, and connection. These principles have always existed, but modern life has distanced us from them. At the same time, the wellness industry has capitalized on this need, often leading to a spiritual bypass where health is treated as just another form of consumption. But true health isn’t about collecting wellness products—it’s about integrating mindful, transformative practices into daily life.

How did you go about creating a product that’s different from the general industry standards?

Fee: We spent five years sourcing the highest-quality, 100% organic ingredients to create Ultimate Foundation. It was a complicated process, but we refused to compromise. Transparency is rare in the supplement industry, but for us, it’s non-negotiable. What makes Ultimate Foundation different is that it’s scientifically designed to nourish all four human bodies—the Physical, Etheric, Astral, and Ego bodies—central concepts in Anthroposophy. We also use high-vibrational foods that have been scientifically shown to store more light energy from the sun, directly impacting cellular health through fueling our cells by enhancing their natural bioelectric activity, improving energy production, regeneration, and overall cellular function. I want people to be better consumers. I want them to read what is in the products they’re using. If it's not 100% organic or you don't want to spend the money, I suggest walking away from supplements. Supplements are so potent, they're so concise, and they can have a significant impact–positively and negatively. I would say we're a game changer in the industry in terms of the product, the knowledge we share, and the community we’ve built.

You've built a community of people around the brand who seem to be an extension of your own personal network. How did you connect with those people and how do they align with the brand's values?

Zoe: What really was, and is, quite exciting to me about the work we do at neoNutritions is that it comes from a very authentic place of wanting to support, wanting to educate, wanting to learn, and wanting to do that with others. The idea that we can bring others around us, commune, and build and support one another is inspiring. We can do that with our people, but we do that with our products as well. We're trying to create this grounding support with one another. It's more about that than building a brand or selling something. It's deeply rooted in connection.

Fee: And also awareness. Authenticity comes from awareness. By being aware of who we are and standing for our values, we are already attracting a certain person who is self-aware, willing to change, and curious.

“We're trying to help people understand that just CHOOSING to try to live a better life and by trying to change something in your body or something about yourself is enough.”

Health can be simple, but with all the information out there it can also feel extremely complex and overwhelming. How do you approach finding that balance between wanting to protect your health without being controlling?

Zoe: What we're trying to present is simplicity. We're offering a product that’s 100% organic, grounding, energizing, and many other things. We're trying to help people understand that just choosing to try to live a better life and by trying to change something in your body or something about yourself is enough. It doesn't have to be so hard. You can make these small changes in your life and work towards sustainable health. It's made very complex and confusing by the whole industry. There's a lot to learn and a lot you can dive into, but being healthy and looking after yourself can be quite simple.

Fee: Exactly. You don’t need to meditate every day, do an hour of yoga, and take 15 different supplements to be healthy. That’s when we fall into a consumption mindset instead of a transformational one. That’s why we created Ultimate Foundation—to simplify health. One product, 52 ingredients, full-spectrum nourishment.

Yes, tell me more about how the formulas work.

Fee: Ultimate Foundation is our centerpiece. Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Anthroposophic medicine all talk about Prana, Chi, or life force. Your Chi needs to be in flow for you to be energetic, healthy, and whole. Our hero product is a powerhouse of vitality and longevity that supports gut health, energy flow, and hormonal balance. Each of the 52 ingredients were chosen for their ability to regenerate and transform the body. Unlike synthetic supplements, which often isolate nutrients, our formulation works synergistically—meaning that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

You mentioned sourcing 52 ingredients. Can you highlight two key ingredients and why they’re so important?

Fee: Absolutely. Two of my favorites are Shan Yao and Kelp, both of which have powerful health benefits. Shan Yao is a powerful herb in Traditional Chinese and Anthroposophic Medicine that helps with digestion, energy, and hormonal balance. It also helps keep blood sugar stable and acts as a gentle, long-lasting energy booster without overstimulating the system—perfect for overall vitality. Kelp is a nutrient-rich sea vegetable packed with iodine, essential for thyroid health and metabolism. It also contains fucoidan, a compound that boosts immune function and combats inflammation. Since many people do not receive adequate iodine, kelp helps restore balance and keep your body functioning smoothly.

There's also this ritualistic nature to neoNutritions. It celebrates having a moment for yourself. Today, that could be considered a luxury. I can imagine with your schedule Zoe, that carving out that time for yourself feels special.

Zoe: Yes, but I look at it slightly differently. I don’t think it has to be the routine of life. For me, it's about paying attention to the small things. It’s about creating space for your consciousness to develop and for yourself to calm your nerves or whatever is important in the moment. I think you see that in my work overall and in the work I've done to visualize the neoNutritions universe. My life is a bit all over the place and I can't always find the time to do whatever I need to do. But as long as I can be aware and move in awareness, I think it is all those small moments. I was in London recently and we were talking about how dark it's getting and moving about the city. What helped me was finding my own little space within this big city. Like putting my headphones on in the metro or reading. Creating little moments that fill you up. So, yes, it can be bigger strokes of caring for oneself, but it can exist in your life already. It's just how you approach it.

I agree. Talking about visualizing the neoNutritions universe, what did your process look like in terms of creating the branding? What are some of the key building blocks for the neoNutritions brand?

Zoe: I think it comes from looking back at this ancient wisdom. Looking at the self as a physical, emotional, spiritual being. We wanted to communicate that spark of life, that energy, that creativity, the breath, the yin and the yang. It's so much more than just an idea of health. We are so much more than that. It's hard to express it, but it is so simple. It just felt with neoNutritions that it was already the language I've been speaking in. As a creative, as an image maker, it comes very naturally to make images for my own company, my own project, my own community. I'm not a hired photographer trying to achieve an idea. This is just what's springing forth from us creating this. There's some pictures of my child and Fee's child together, their ears, their feet or hands.

Fee: As Zoe said, it comes from a place of authenticity. Everything we do is done with so much dedication and intentionality. We pour ourselves into it in our own ways.

Zoe: It's not about health as the Western world typically defines it.

What are some of the key concepts we should challenge in society, you think to become a healthier one?

Fee: Everything is a starting point. Belief in the ability of change. Just because you have been drinking this and that or eating this and that or haven't been focused on your health for the past 30 years doesn't mean that you have to remain the same. You are made to change. Ask questions. Be interested. Try to be aware of who you are at that moment and be honest with yourself. Then, dedicate your time to the small things. Don't make things bigger than they are.

Zoe: That's really well said. I agree with all of that.

When people interact with neoNutritions, what is one thing you hope they take from it?

Zoe: I don't think I've been asked that before. I hope they experience and feel something unexpected. The energy shift that comes from using Ultimate Foundation is something you have to feel.

Fee: That it shifts something. I hope for connection and transformation. If you want to go down the rabbit hole, we provide the tools—on our website, in our workshops, and through our education. Our mission is to help people return to their innate vitality, to reconnect with their childlike creativity and curiosity.

Zoe: What I meant with something unexpected is when you want to move forward. When you want to look after yourself or try something new. You have to come to that with a curiosity, right? That's what that unexpected thing is. It's about opening this space to be more curious or to find something different in yourself.

Fee: That's beautiful.
