A GALLERY SPECIALIZING IN 20TH CENTURY DESIGN

Partners and husband and wife duo Jeffrey Graetsch and Ashley Booth Klein founded design gallery MDFG in 2015. The gallery specializes in 20th century design by artists and architects including Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Jean Royere, and Isamu Noguchi. Graetsch and Booth Klein source rare works for the gallery and privately advise clients on building personal and comprehensive collections.

“They recently launched their website and it’s BEAUTIFULLY done. I have several items that Ashley, the founder's wife, helped me find. There is a level of excellence I connect with here.”

“If you haven’t been, please go. It is like engulfing yourself in a bubble of INSPIRATION even if you aren’t buying anything. I adore the staff and feel so full after my time there.”

THIS IS WHAT A GOOD STORE LOOKS LIKE

Established in 2006, luxury fashion brand The Row has been greatly appreciated by those looking for timeless design. The brand’s obsession for uncompromising quality isn’t only applied to their own product, but also comes through in its store design. The flagship on Melrose Place in Los Angeles was The Row’s first physical space. Creative directors Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen collaborated with architect David Montalba and interior designer Courtney Applebaum to shape the store. The three areas in the space have been decorated with furniture pieces by Poul Kjaerholm, Jean Prouvé and Fortuny alongside items from Olsen's private collections.

A GALLERY FOCUSING ON FEMINIST AND CONCEPTUAL ART

Hannah Hoffman grew up in a prominent art-collecting family in Dallas. She worked in New York before moving to Los Angeles where she opened her eponymous gallery in 2013. Hoffman connected with a community of like-minded gallerists and dealers in L.A. who were on a similar trajectory. The gallery exhibits international contemporary artists alongside historical exhibitions with a focus on feminist and conceptual pieces.

“I haven’t been to this gallery yet but I am very interested in checking it out because of the CURATION I see on Instagram. There is a depth and curiosity in the artists chosen and displayed here.”

“I love the SIMPLICITY of this jewelry designer. I recently found her on Instagram and have a bracelet and earrings I adore and wear it all of the time. A new must!”

SIMPLISTIC JEWELRY HANDCRAFTED IN LOS ANGELES

Influenced by her Italian and Czech ancestry, Tiana Marie Combes started working with glass in 2017. Since then, the brand has expanded their offering into fine jewelry and pieces for the home. Each jewelry piece is handcrafted in Los Angeles of Italian glass and recycled fine metals, aiming to create enduring pieces using ageless materials.

“My friend Viktorija, who owns consulting agency VSJ consulting, introduced me to this brand. It is a beautiful brand for travel and life essentials. Beautifully made and CLASSIC. Pieces you will wear over and over again. And that’s paramount to me with clothes as an influencer who gets offered gifted items. I am so selective with what I say yes to. VEN’s pieces are my go-to for cozy plane rides.”
