THIS MINIMAL BEAUTY BRAND SUPPORTS STRESSED SKIN

REOME combines science-led skincare with self-care rituals to support restoring the balance in our skin as well as our minds. The digitized world we live in often comes with high levels of stress, REOME’s mission is to redefine skincare as a tool for self-connection over self-improvement. The brand’s formulas include highly-potent, advanced biotech and bio-fermented active ingredients to restore our innate health. Founded by beauty editor and acupuncturist Joanna Ellner, the brand takes a slow approach to expanding their product range. Their first product is their Active Recovery Broth, a concentrated, micro-fine serum that includes a blend of bio-ferments and nine biomimetic actives to tackle the effects of long-term stress on skin.

“I love a good SKINCARE product and this one is quite new to my regime but has already become a favorite. It’s a highly effective serum powered by advanced biotech and bio-fermented actives. And the packaging is a thing of beauty.”

“I remember my first STAY at The Newt and I’ll never forget how blown away I was — every touch point was sheer excellence. The estate is owned by Koos Bekker and Karin Roos who are also founders of Babylonstoren in South Africa’s Cape.”

A FARM TO TABLE COUNTRY RETREAT

On a 800-acre estate in Somerset you’ll find The Newt. South African billionaire and tech magnate Koos Bekker and his wife – former editor of Elle Decoration in South Africa – Karen Roos created a country sanctuary that features a hotel, gardens, a spa, multiple restaurants, acres of woodland, farmland and cider orchards and many other activities to explore. Stay in the Georgian Hadspen House that was built in the 17th century, or in The Farmyard which houses 17 rooms in a former dairy farm. With all the different activities on the estate, there’s no real need to leave. But for those looking to explore, Bruton is only a short drive away, where you’ll find Hauser & Wirth’s art gallery as well as great interior shops and excellent restaurants like At the Chapel and Osip.

A PIECE OF ART YOU CAN SIT ON

London-based design studio Toogood was founded in 2008 by Faye Toogood. The designer defies categorisation, and isn’t constrained by a single discipline. Her work spans furniture, homewares, interiors and fashion and she’s celebrated for creating a holistic universe through her minimalist and sculptural designs. One of Toogood’s most iconic furniture pieces is the ‘Roly-Poly’ chair. Part of the Assemblage collection, the design was inspired by outsider art and primitivism. Through its strong geometry and form the chair has quickly become a design classic. The chair is crafted from fiberglass and handmade by master artisans, one piece at a time. Italian furnishings firm Driade has a more affordable edition of the ‘Roly-Poly’ crafted in a plastic material.

“This chair was on my wishlist for a long time and am very GRATEFUL to now own one. It’s a functional piece of art that brings me a lot of joy.”

“My husband surprised me with this watch at Christmas a couple of years ago and I love it. It’s such a CLASSIC piece I know I’ll enjoy wearing for years to come.”

AN ICONIC TIMEPIECE ON EVERYONE’S MIND

Cartier’s Tank watch is one of those designs that transcends time and trends. The iconic watch was invented by Louis Cartier – a grandson of Cartier’s founder – in 1917, who was inspired by newspaper photographs of Renault FT-17 tanks as well as the Cubism movement. Since then, the Tank has had many different iterations from the minimal Solo to the elegant Française and unlike other timepieces, the Tank has always been a unisex watch. The Tank has been worn by a range of renowned changemakers, aesthetes and creatives including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Andy Warhol and Princess Diana. Culture’s recent obsession with quiet luxury has led to a resurgence in understated, classic designs as well as a renewed interest in timepieces from a new generation. And Cartier’s Tank is the perfect fit.

IT ALL STARTED WITH AN OLD FISHERMAN’S COAT

KASSL Editions is the brainchild of a collective of creatives from around Europe. The group was brought together by the impeccable design of a simple cut, technical, old fisherman’s coat. That singular design led to launching an outerwear-first brand with a genderless, durable and functional approach. Moving away from the excess and overproduction the fashion industry is known for. The brand’s first signature coat was produced in a factory in Kassel, Germany that supplies the German national fire brigade, which allowed the brand to create designs that truly stand the tests of time. The KASSL Editions collections have evolved since then, and now include bags, ready-to-wear and homeware including the Pillow sofa designed by Belgian designers Muller Van Severen.

“There’s something about KASSL that I just can’t fault. The clean AESTHETIC and functional designs really appeal to me. Whenever I wear this trench I feel so me.”
